Personalization
Chapter 5 details a range of personalization options that can be applied from the Control Panel. Within the Personalization section of the Settings app, there are also options to personalize the look of Windows 10. To do this:
1. Open the Settings app and click on the Personalization button
Don't forget:
In Windows 10, more of the personalization options have been moved into the Settings app. However, there are still some options within the Control panel, including Themes, Sounds, and the Screen saver (under Appearance and Personalization Personalization).
2. Click on the Background button to select a Desktop background. Select Picture in the Background box and click to select a picture or click on the Browse button to select one of your own pictures
3. Click on the Colors button to select an accent color for the current background, Start menu, and Taskbar
4. Check this box to Off to disable the automatic selection for the accent color

5. Click on one of the colors to select it for the accent color
6. Drag this button On to make the Start menu, Taskbar, and Action Center transparent
7. Drag this button On to use the color selected in Step 5 on the Start menu, Taskbar, and Action Center
8. Click on the Themes > Theme settings button to select a color theme for Windows 10, via the Control Panel

Lock Screen Settings
The Settings app enables you to set the appearance of the Lock screen, the Start menu, and select an account photo. To do this, first access the Settings:
- Open the Settings app and click on the Personalization button

More customization options can be applied using the Control Panel as in previous versions of Windows. For more information about this,
- Click on the Lock screen button
- The current Lock screen background is shown here
- Click here to select options for the Lock screen background
- Select one of the Lock screen background options from the Windows spotlight Picture or Slideshow
- For the Picture option, click on the Browse button to select your own picture
- Select an image and click on Choose picture to add this to the background options for the Lock screen
- Other options for the Lock screen include selecting apps that display their detailed or quick status, options for screen timeout when not in use, and Screen saver settings
Hot tip:
If you use your own images for the Lock screen background, these will remain available on the thumbnail row even if you switch to another image for the background.
