Pin to Start Menu Windows 10
In most cases, you will want to have quick access to a variety of apps on the Start menu, not just the new Windows 10 apps. It is possible to "pin" any app to the Start menu so that it is always readily available. To do this:
- Access the alphabetical list of apps, from the Start button
- Right-click on an app and click on the Pin to Start button
Hot tip:
Apps can be unpinned from the Start menu by right-clicking on them and selecting Unpin from Start from the menu that appears.
- The app is pinned to the Start menu. It can now be repositioned, if required, as with any other app.
Pin to Taskbar Windows 10
All Windows 10 apps can be pinned to the Desktop Taskbar (the bar that appears along the bottom of the Desktop) so that they can be accessed quickly. To do this:
1. Click on the Start button to access the full list of apps
2. Right-click on an app and click on More > Pin to the taskbar
Hot tip:
Apps can be unpinned from the Taskbar by right-clicking on them and selecting More > Unpin from the taskbar from the contextual menu that appears.
3. The app is added to the Taskbar

4. Open apps on the Taskbar can also be pinned there by right-clicking on them and selecting Pin to taskbar
5. Pinned items remain on the Taskbar even once they have been closed
